Golden Cowrie (Hukad)

Next stop is in Golden Cowrie also known as Hukad. This one's in Ayala: The Terraces in Cebu City's Business Park.

Being placed in Ayala's new park or zone, The Terraces which looks really classy, one would think that all restaurants and fast foods here are expensive and can really burn a hole to your wallet.

Not with Hukad. True that their restaurant sure looks classy and expensive, but try to dine in and you'll be surprised to find out that most of their dishes are very affordable compared to other restaurants of the same caliber. Here in Hukad,
P300.00($7.00) to P500.00($11.00) is already enough to fill 3 to 4 person's stomach with their delicious dishes coupled with unlimited rice!

We went here twice already and their staffs look friendly so we have nothing to complain about them. They attentively come to your needs like when you want another serving of rice, or you want to order for more.

During our visit here, the dish that we really liked was the Baked Scallops. They also serve Chicken Pandan, and their Lechon Kawali also tastes great! And if you want to be tropical, you can have coconut juice for your drink!

By the way, there is also a Hukad branch in SM City Cebu. Can't wait for our next visit to either of their branches.

To tourists and locals alike, I recommend you Hukad.

Pizza Hut's Chicken Wings or Winglets?

Have you ever been in Pizza Hut? To those who does not know what Pizza Hut is, Pizza Hut is a pizza restaurant chain which started from Wichita, Kansas last 1958 and now has more than 12,000 in over 90 countries worldwide.

They offer great Pizza selections, as what you would expect from a Pizza chain pioneer in most countries.

However, as a customer in one of its outlets specifically in SM City Cebu, Philippines, there is something wrong in their menu. Well, I know that every franchisee customizes some products depending on the area it is serving. Example, the size of a pizza of the same type and of the same price is larger if it's in the US, but smaller if it's in the Philippines.

Well, what I'm talking here is about their "Chicken Wings" product(About P 147.00). Sure it looks good in the menu, it looks tasty and because it looked tasty, even if it's expensive, you might want to give it a try since you thought it's worth it.

And now we ordered. Sure it tasted great just as we would expect from an expensive dish(about P 147.00 an order). But hey, wait, was that all? With all due expectations, what we had in the end was three undersized legs of a chick! The legs were so small, even smaller than a bantam chicken's leg! Maybe slightly larger or the same with that of a quail's leg.

What I can say is that, it's really not worthy for my P 147.00 and it is NOT RECOMMENDED. You can actually have a better, larger, tastier chicken leg in other food chains or restaurants with a cheaper price. But I'm not saying here that Pizza Hut is a bad pizza restaurant altogether. They have some great Pizzas to choose from including their new Lasagna Pizza which tasted great!

I don't know if it's the same to all of the Pizza Hut outlets in the Philippines or was is only in SM City Cebu. What can you say about this? Share your thoughts!
